If you want a separate copy without copied source metadata, Clean Slate processes photos and videos on your iPhone and keeps the originals. Photos are exported as new JPEGs.
Remove metadata with Clean SlateFive free cleans each month. iOS 26 or later.
What can this checker tell you?
It reads supported EXIF, XMP and IPTC fields, plus uncompressed PNG text. A photo taken at home might contain GPS coordinates; an edited export might name the software that saved it. Some files contain only basic technical properties, and some contain none of the fields checked.
A missing field is not proof that a file contains no metadata. Maker notes, compressed PNG text, embedded Content Credentials and other unsupported data may need a specialist reader. Messages and photo pickers can also provide a converted copy, so select the original file when you want to inspect that version.
AI-related source-type declarations can provide context when present. Their absence cannot tell you whether a photo was captured, edited with AI or generated. This tool does not verify signatures or decide whether an image is authentic. The recognised declarations follow IPTC digital source types.
