An embedded tag is not the same as a platform label
An embedded tag travels inside the file. A label shown by a social platform is a decision made by that service. A platform may use several signals, including information beyond the file metadata. Removing a tag therefore cannot guarantee that the service will stop displaying a label.
Use Clean Slate for removable source metadata

What cleaning does not remove
Clean Slate does not remove a visible watermark or guarantee the removal of invisible watermarks, fingerprints or every provenance mechanism. A badge drawn into an image or a video frame is part of the visible content itself. A classifier can also reach a conclusion from the content regardless of its embedded metadata.
Keep your description of the photo or video accurate
Cleaning a file does not change how it was created. If a platform, client or publication asks you to disclose AI use, metadata removal does not replace that disclosure. Describe the original capture and any edits honestly, and keep supporting records if the distinction matters.
Choose it for the task it can actually do
Clean Slate is a photo and video metadata remover, not a service for appealing platform decisions. If the problem is a disputed label, use the platform’s own review process. If the task is to create a copy without removable source tags, start with the app’s free allowance and inspect the result.
A real capture with an AI-assisted edit
Imagine that you photograph a landscape or record a short interview, then use an AI feature during the edit. The capture and the edit are separate parts of the story. An embedded tag may record something about the tool or editing process without giving the audience that context. Clean Slate can create a copy without removable source tags, while you retain the original and editing records if you need to explain how the work was produced.
An entirely AI-generated image or video
The app can also clean removable source metadata from an AI-generated file. That does not turn it into a camera capture, prove authenticity or change what happened during creation. If a client or platform asks how it was made, describe it accurately. The useful distinction is between cleaning the file you distribute and making a claim about the origin of the content.
A sensible sequence for creators
Finish the photo or video edit first and save the final version. Select that version in Clean Slate, run the clean and inspect the saved result. Keep the source and any project files you need for your records. If a platform still applies an AI label, use its own help or review process rather than repeatedly exporting in the expectation that a label must disappear.
What you can check and what you cannot promise
You can check whether particular embedded source fields appear in the file you plan to share. You cannot infer a platform’s entire classification process from that check. A service may use other signals, and its display can change independently of the file’s metadata. Clean Slate’s benefit is control over removable source information in a new copy, for both photos and videos, rather than a guarantee about another service’s decision.
